More than 200 paintings by Algerian and foreign calligraphers are exhibited till June 7 at the National Museum of Miniature, illumination and Calligraphy of Algiers, as part of the 6th International Calligraphy Festival.
Inaugurated at the end of May at Mustapha Pacha Palace, the exhibition includes several artistic works inspired by classical and modern schools and made in different styles of writing (Kufic, Thuluth, Naksh,... ).
This edition highlights the authenticity, wealth and aestheticism of the Maghreb calligraphy.
This festival will be marked by the organization of a contest in which the best artists will receive prizes in the categories of classical and modern calligraphy.
Conferences on calligraphy will be held on the sidelines of the festival by specialists from Iran, Turkey, Iraq and others.
