Representative of 65 countries on Saturday participated in a walking activity as part of the people's friendship carnival, which is organized by the Council for International People's Friendship (CIPF) in Sudan.

The logo of the event, which is "As the two Niles embrace, the world nations meet in Sudan," came to incarnate the objectives of the carnival which started from Al-Sunut forest, the biggest natural area in the capital Khartoum, registered as a natural reserve in 1939.

Representatives of 65 countries marched the streets of Khartoum carrying the flags of their countries and performing songs and dances symbolizing multi-cultures.

The CIPF is organizing the peoples' friendship carnival annually.

"This carnival confirms to the world that Sudan is living in stability and peace," CIPF Secretary-General in Sudan Abdul-Moniem Al-Sunni told Xinhua.

"Representatives of 65 communities living in Sudan are participating in the carnival. Our objective is that they convey a message to the world about what they have found in this country which loves peoples," he said.

Meanwhile, the participation of the Chinese community in Khartoum has drawn the attention in terms of the great number of participants who were carrying the flags of both China and Sudan.

Li Guang, a female Chinese media student at the University of Khartoum, told Xinhua that "we are participating in this carnival in incarnation of the growing ties between China and Sudan."

"We hope such carnivals would contribute to communication among nations of the world. It is a wonderful humanitarian event," she noted.

In the meantime, members of the Ethiopian community participating in the carnival, putting on their colorful costumes which reflected the diversified Ethiopian culture, have performed songs and dances that arrested the audience.

"As it is known, Ethiopia has the biggest foreign community in Sudan. We live in peace with our brothers in Sudan and we feel like we are in our home," Desta Mosesa, a representative of the Ethiopian community, told Xinhua.

"We participate for the second successive year in this carnival, and we believe it is an important event that informs with the cultures of nations," he added.

Activities of the peoples' friendship carnival included sports shows, folkloric dances and artistic shows.

The carnival program also included a cultural symposium at the Friendship Hall in Khartoum about the human civilization in addition to cultural and heritage shows.
