The city of Tetouan will host the 23rd annual International Festival for Mediterranean Cinema, which will take place from March 25 to April 1.
This symposium will be an opportunity for participants to discuss a number of thematic issues, including border conflicts and illegal immigration and the image of immigrants in European cinema based on Spanish, Italian and French productions.
Border conflicts and borders in Palestinian Cinema will also be showcased in the festival.
The 23rd edition will be an opportunity for filmmakers, intellectuals, and writers to gather, along with 7th art professionals, whose works attempt to overcome some of the most gripping social issues. The filmmakers also highlight the barriers that can separate artistic expressions, namely cinema and literature, documentary cinema and fiction.
In response to this, cineastes and intellectuals, based on their life experience, attempt to find answers to questions related to how filmmakers manage to give border issues sound, space and characters, and what types of borders are recurring in Mediterranean cinema.
