Bill O'Reilly has adapted his book, Killing Jesus, into an illustrated story for children. The 64-year-old conservative news host released Killing Jesus in 2013, and has renamed the new adaptation The Last Days of Jesus for kids. Both works recount the life and crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth. "I think people are fed up with secularism," the O'Reilly Show host said Thursday on Today. "Killing Jesus and The Last Days of Jesus are not religious books, they're all history." "This is the most famous man who ever lived," he says of Jesus. "[The books say] 'Here's what happened to him, and why.'" O'Reilly says he would like The Last Days of Jesus, or works like it, to be taught in public schools. "Kids, if they live in a secular home and go to public school, don't know anything about Jesus," the author asserts. "The only time they hear the word 'Jesus' is when someone is yelling at them [in anger].'" "Our Constitution was forged on Judeo-Christian philosophy," he continues. "You shouldn't have to go seek [Jesus] -- it's part of our history and part of our heritage. Kids need to know what Judeo-Christian tradition is." O'Reilly goes on to say that kids in public schools should learn about Christianity if they are "American children." "If they don't like it, that's too bad," he says. The Last Days of Jesus has already been released in bookstores.
