British author Alastair Campbell, former communication director of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, signed yesterday his 'The Blair Years' at the book signing corner at the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF).
The book features extracts from Campbell's diaries detailing the period Tony Blair served in the Cabinet office in Downing Street. Campbell worked as the Director of Communications and Strategy for the Prime Minister Tony Blair, and was described as the spin doctor of Tony Blair and the UK cabinet during Blair's term. The memoir is based on Campbell's diaries during his work as a spokesman, then as a communication director.
The author focused on many controversial issues and showed how Blair was dominating the UK policy during his term. The closest advisor to Blair revealed many secrets during the years he spent in Downing Street.
Alastair Campbell offered a brief biography of Tony Blair, who was born in1953, studied jurisprudence and worked as a lawyer from 1976 to 1983. He started his political career as a member in the Labour Party and was promoted under the umbrella of the Labour Party. – Emirates News Agency,
