Genies are notoriously known for granting their “master’s” most desired wishes. However, in Justin Black’s debut novel, these magical creatures are written without that pleasure. Tempo Thompson And Deadly Mountain transforms the one staple of genies—wish granting—with a more gratifying aspect that would allow a normal person to use a genie’s powers for themselves. “Imagine using a genie’s magic to teleport or clean the entire house at the wave of a finger—not the genie’s finger—your finger. I just needed a unique way to utilize genies in my book, and granting wishes was hindering me,” Justin Black said, author of the upcoming Tempo Thompson series. “I believe it’s every kid’s dream to use magic. And eliminating wish granting allows me to expand on that creativity, and to play out my imaginative thoughts.” The novel also includes gypsies, and with either a genie or gypsy, a normal person would be allowed to use magic for themselves and use these supernatural powers on others. In addition, characters will fly on magic carpets and explore a magical world called, “Genuine.” Black did not comment on how this magic connection was possible, but he did say the connection would be exclusive to a normal person and their genie. Black also goes on to say granting wishes will not be completely removed and will explore it later in the series. Source: PRWEB
