Brisbane - Arab Today

“Duck Magic” by Elvira Davis is an inventive introduction to the topic of celebrating uniqueness. The book is the first in a series of three children’s ballads about the Aarmoo children from Cloncurry in Central Queensland who visit the non-aboriginal children of the Smith family. The book serves as a visual tool to spark the conversation on topics like magic, safety, bullying and pain. Davis was inspired to share her Australian fairy tale after learning about the many young aboriginal men in prison who feel they are unable to rise above their situations. She hopes the book will inspire readers to gain confidence, use their imaginations and learn to find peace in the world. “Every adult is a child at heart,” Davis says. “We need more imagination and laughter.” Source: PRWEB
