The opening of a major season of works by pioneering choreographer Pina Bausch. Part of the Cultural Olympiad, the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch: World Cities 2012 season will see ten works performed over one month, each produced during a residency in a different city in the world between the years 1986 and 2009 - the year of Bausch's death. 'Viktor' is the earliest work on show, created in 1986 in Rome and featuring all the striking visuals and baffling actions you'd expect from Bausch, not least girls swinging on gymnastic rings and stuffing raw meat into their pointe shoes. Marvellous.
