Strictly Come Dancing winner Tom Chambers and West End star Summer Strallen star in the stage adaptation of the classic dance film Top Hat. The theatrical production of Top Hat, which includes a plethora of memorable Irving Berlin songs, stars Chambers as famous America tap dancer Jerry Travers, who arrives in London ready to appear in his first West End show. When he meets the irresistible Dale Tremont (played by Strallen), he realises she is the girl of his dreams and chases her across Europe in an attempt to win her heart. Among the Berlin classics in Top Hat that will get toes tapping both on and off-stage are Let’s Face The Music And Dance, Isn’t It A Lovely Day To Be Caught In The Rain and Top Hat White Tie And Tails. Former Holby City star Chambers proved his dancing chops in the 2008 series of the BBC’s hit dance show and went on to star in another Berlin show, White Christmas, at the Sunderland Empire. Prior to her appearance in Top Hat, Strallen appeared in London productions of Love Never Dies, The Sound Of Music, The Drowsy Chaperone and The Boy Friend. Top Hat’s director Matthew White has previously directed hit productions of Sweet Charity and Little Shop Of Horrors. Both began life at the intimate Menier Chocolate Factory, proving so successful that they transferred to larger theatres in the West End. Top Hat comes is presented by arrangement with RKO Pictures LLC, Warner Bros Theatre Ventures Inc. and the Irving Berlin Music Company.
