Dancers perform on stage during the opening ceremony of the Duanwu festival, also known as the Dragon Boat Festival, held at the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park on the outskirts of Beijing yesterday. The festival is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, and is an official public holiday in mainland China since 2008, celebrated for three consecutive days.
