Russia's Ambassador Alexey Solomatin on Sunday emphasized the strong cultural ties with Kuwait.
This is manifested through the exchange of visits to get acquainted with the culture of both countries, Solomatin said in an opening statement to a children's show by Russia's Moskova troupe held at Salmiya Theater tonight.
He stressed keenness on bringing Russian culture to Kuwait and enhancing Kuwaiti cultural presence in his country.
Solomatin thanked Kuwait's National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters (NCAAL) and appreciated presence by Council Chairman, Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah.
This affirms interest in getting familiarized with Russian arts, he said. It is the first time that Moskova performs in Kuwait, and the Middle East.
Moskova offers classic and modern dances from the Russian folklore, which Solomatin hoped would gain Kuwaiti's admiration.
Today's show that commenced with a ballet, included an Indian dance on oriental music and also one from Middle Ages Europe, as well as many from the Russian folklore.
