China inflation falls to 2.6% year-on-year in August

Inflation in China fell to 2.6 percent year-on-year in August, the National Bureau of Statistics said Monday. The rise in the consumer price index, a main gauge of inflation, was a slight decrease on July's 2.7 percent figure. The NBS said food prices were the main driver of the increase.
