Russia: US must press Kiev to respect Geneva deal

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Monday the United States must press Ukraine's new government to respect its part of a deal reached last week in Geneva to ease the crisis over the ex-Soviet republic. Lavrov asked US Secretary of State John Kerry in a telephone conversation to "pressure Kiev to stop hotheads from provoking a bloody conflict and to encourage the Ukrainian authorities to strictly fulfil their obligations", the Russian foreign ministry said in a statement.
