Al-Qalbakjeh Souq (market) is one of the smallest markets in the Old City of Damascus.
The Souq, which is about 75 meters long, is located between Souq al-Harir (Silk market) and Souq al-Khayatin (Tailors market).
Al-Qalbakjeh is popularly known as “Souq al-Neswan” (Women market) because it caters to the women’s needs of clothes and sewing equipment. One of its parts is called “Tafdili Ya Set’, an Arabic colloquial phrase meaning “Welcome Lady”.
