As MP Abdullah Al-Turaiji took the floor to start his grilling motion against the Minister of Commece and Industry Abdulmohsen Al-Madaj, he raised many questions over alleged misappropriation of public funds, irregularities and administrative corruption.
The MP suspected indiscretions taking place in the Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) which led to its ongoing losses. He pointed out that the national bourse establishment in 2012 was "unconstitutional and incorrect." He also raised a question mark over a sum of KD 40 million that was drawn out of the KSE's KD 180 million deposit which might have caused the deteriorating state of the bourse.
Al-Turaiji also pointed figures to some administrative corruption and misconduct among the bourse's employees.
The MP also questioned the Minister over the "weak" performance of the state's Audit Audit Bureau on carrying out its annual plan and over a "controversial" KD 2.2 million campaign to promote local products.
In addition, he asked about the Ministry's failure in applying law against commercial dishonesty and spoiled goodd being circulated in local markets.
Furthermore, Al-Turaiji raised inquires over administrative corruption undergoing in the Ministry in regards to irregular staff movement, bonus violations, and employment of relatives.
