The Housing Ministry has organised an open meeting with the heads and members of the four municipal councils, in the presence of the Minister of Housing Basim bin Yacoub Al-Hamer, Housing Ministry Undersecretary Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa and a number of officials.
The meeting aimed to inform municipal members about the Ministry's plans and programmes in order to provide projects and housing services for low-income citizens, included in the government action plan for the next four years.
Al-Hamar expressed the Ministry's appreciation for the tireless efforts exerted by the municipal councils so as to serve the Bahraini citizens.
He said that the meeting represents the Ministry's new approach in communicating with the specialists in municipal work, following the directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.
He reviewed the Ministry's objectives since the launching of its housing plan in 2012, and what it has been able to achieve over the past three years.
The Minister's speech was followed by presentations to review the Ministry's projects, programmes and services.
