Manama - BNA

Construction work of Isa Town Popular Suq is complete, the Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry has announced. The project was carried out in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Dr. Juma'a bin Ahmed Al Ka'abi paid an inspection visit to the project and directed the Southern Municipality to streamline procedures of the traders' movement to the new location.
The minister said that the new suq takes into consideration all requirements of the traders including the needed display spaces, car parks, the needed facilities for visitors as well as safety measures. He underlined HRH the Prime Minister's personal follow-up on progress on the project and directives to carry out the reconstruction work in a record time while ensuring trading activities are not disrupted in the temporary location.
Dr. Al Ka'abi emphasised the ministry's keenness to ensure easy movement of the traders to the new location, lauding cooperation of the municipal council in this respect. He pointed out that the suq is one of the landmark projects in Bahrain given the type and quality of products sold there.
