Prince Khalifa bin Salman
Manama - BNA

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has received a cable of thanks from Chairman of the Executive Council of the Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation (Al Hurr) Yaqoob Mohamed Yousif.
Yaqoob Mohammed Yousif extended, on behalf of the members of Al-Hurr Executive Council, earnest thanks and gratitude to HRH Premier for his constant interest to achieve the aspirations and meet the legitimate demands of Bahraini workers.
He extended Al-Hurr’s sincere thanks and appreciation to HRH the Premier following His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s ratification of the amendments to the Private Sector Labour Law on removing the name of the "General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions" from the Law, an amendment submitted by the government, led by the Premier, to re-affirm its respect for the principle of trade union pluralism in the kingdom.
He said that under HRH Premier’s leadership, the kingdom has issued many laws and systems to ensure full rights of workers, re-assert its commitment to international labour conventions and achieve optimum labour stability.
He underlined that Bahrain’s labour accomplishment exceed those in many countries, citing the right to set up trade union, the Civil Service Law, the Labour Law for the private and public sectors, which, he said, are pioneering laws that guarantee the rights of Bahraini and foreign workers.
He reiterated Al-Hurr’s commitment to HRH Premier’s vision on the need to distance trade union work from politicisation in order to achieve gains that interest workers.
He stressed Al-Hurr’s firm stance on keeping trade unions’ work away from political polarisation and sectarian disputes through focusing on workers’ rights, improving productivity and developing the work environment in order to win more workers’ gains, being the main duty of trade unions.
He pledged Al-Hurr’s determination to counter efforts to distort the bright image of Bahrain and its workers through seeking the support of the enemies of the nation and its workforce, and do its utmost to defend the landmark achievements of Bahraini workers attained thanks to HRH Premier’s wise leadership.
He prayed Allah Almighty to protect HRH Premier and guide him on the right path of success.
