Education Minister, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi, received here a delegation from Microsoft Corporation, led by its Vice President of Worldwide Education, Anthony Salcito, along with the President of the Bahrain Technology Companies Society (Btech), Obaidly Al-Obaidly.
Education Ministry’s digital empowerment officials gave a presentation about the advanced strides made by the ministry in integrating information and communication technology (ICT) in education, including the digital empowerment project, currently implemented in many schools.
A presentation on the efforts exerted by the Education Ministry through the Bahrain-based, UNESCO-affiliated Regional Centre for Information and Communication Technology to conduct training sessions and programmes for thousands of beneficiaries from Bahrain and other countries, as well as the e-services provided by the King Hamad Digital Library, was also given.
The visiting delegation highlighted the main technology projects and programmes implemented by Microsoft Corporation for school leaderships and teachers.
The two sides agreed to increase cooperation in the field of training and in developing the use of IT in school curricula and classes.
