Egypt's commercial representation office in Beirut managed to solve the issue of mango exports to the Lebanese market after it provided 5 million dollars for Egyptian exporters to help them export mangoes to Lebanon.
An Egyptian company tasked with examining Egypt's mango farms had imposed a 50-cent fee on each kilo of mango exported to Lebanon, prompting Egyptian merchants to lodge a complaint with the Trade and Industry Ministry on that score.
Promptly, Trade and Industry Minister Tareq Qabil assigned the commercial representation office to solve this issue to resume the exportation of mangoes to the Lebanese market as soon as possible.
Egypt's exports of mango to the Lebanese market are expected to hit 25 million dollar this year.
