Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Mostafa Madbouli said as many as 31 projects in the water and sanitary drainage fields in Daqahliya are being implemented at a total cost of EGP 2.4 billion along with the building of a number of social housing units.
In a statement released Saturday, Madbouli said the new housing units will be established in the areas of Gamasa, Matariya, Aga and May 15 upon a fund from UAE.
As for the water projects, the statement said expansion projects have been carried out in the water stations of Meet Faris, Menyet el Nasr, Meet Ghamis and others.
Also, projects have almost been finalized in Meet Ghamr water station, Gamasa water station that will be accomplished in December this year.
In the sanitary drainage sector, the minister explained that Meet Ghamr station was almost finished at a total cost of EGP 270 million along with other projects in Kafr Abdalllah, Kom el Nour besides Gamasa Housing project at a cost of EGP 18 million that will be finalized in December 2016.
