Minister of Trade and Industry Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour met on Sunday with German Economy Minister Sigmar Gabriel on the sidelines of the Egypt Economic Development Conference, which will close today.
The get-together was attended by the deputy of German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
They discussed ways of bolstering industrial and commercial cooperation between the two states, especially in the field of technical and vocational training.
Abdel Nour underlined that the Egyptian ministry is exerting strenuous efforts to encourage the Egyptian youth to work in the private sector, shedding light on cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation to that effect.
He also called on the German companies to invest in renewable energy projects in Egypt and make use of the motivational policies, currently adopted by the Egyptian government.
Gabriel, meanwhile, stressed his country's full support for Egypt to restore its position at the international level. "The wide participation by German companies in the gathering gives an indicator that Egypt's economy is recovering."
He stressed that the coming period will witness more cooperation in the industrial and service fields between the two states.
