Egypt's Ambassador to Algeria Omar Abu-Aish asserted on Thursday that the embassy is exhorting its efforts to solve the complaints of as many as 142 Egyptian workers in Algeria against an Egyptian businessman for not getting their financial dues.
He told MENA that he met representatives of the workers three times to settle their problems.
During the meetings, he asserted that the embassy can not pay them their dues because it is not part of the problem but he told them a number of suggestions that they did not accept.
Earlier, the embassy and its labor office tried to convince the businessman to pay the fworkers their financial dues the workers but he refused.
Abu-Aish added that 31 workers out of 142 have agreed to return back home but they retracted from taking the action.
The Egyptian businessman returned to Egypt with his Algerian wife when he found that the Egyptian embassy is supporting the workers in their crisis, the ambassador said.
The Egyptian Manpower Ministry notified the Funds Prosecution and the Public Prosecution to take all the necessary measures against the Egyptian businessman.
