Exports from the Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI) have reached nearly JD3 billion as of the end of September this year, according to a report released on Saturday.
Further, exports from the ACI rose by JD37 million during the past 9 months of this year, compared to the same period last year.
The report indicated that national exports, according to the certificate of origin issued by the chamber, stood at JD2.98 billion during the first 9 months of 2014, compared to JD2.94 in the same period of 2013.
Although the Chamber's exports to Iraq dropped by 17 percent during the first 9 months of this year, most of these exports went to the Iraqi market, recorded at JD641 million compared to JD776 last year.
Additionally, Saudi Arabia ranked second with JD417 million, followed by the United States with JD278 million and India at JD265 million.
The Chamber's exports to Syria also rose by 131 percent during the first nine months of this year, standing at JD 90 million compared to JD38 million last year, and to Palestine by 49 percent to reach JD63 million.
Exports from Jordan included cosmetics, chemical and manufacturing products, medical and pharmaceutical supplies, as well as foodstuffs, agricultural produce and cartons.
