Government discusses measures to reduce budget deficit

The government discussed during a meeting Sunday directives given by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on ongoing mega national projects and measures to reduce the state budget’s deficit.
The government, under Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, said it focused on providing basic commodities to citizens, facing overpricing and fighting manipulation, Ismail said following the Cabinet meeting.
He stressed that any violations committed by policemen are not accepted and violators will be held accountable.
The government is currently drafting its platform to be submitted to the new House of Representatives, he said.
