Hala February 2015 Festival is to kick off tomorrow, Friday, at Kuwait Towers from 12 p.m. until 12 a.m., the organizing committee announced Thursday.
The 16th edition of the annual festival will celebrate the naming of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as a "Humanitarian Leader" by the UN, member of the higher organizing committee Walid Al-Suqabi told KUNA
He added that this is the first time the festival's activities will take place at Kuwait Towers instead of the usual venue of Salem Al-Mubarak Street, in Salmiya.
Al-Suqabi, who is also head of the Festival's media committee, pointed out that shuttles will be provided for the public to transport them from the waiting zone at Society of Engineers to the location of the carnival.
The opening ceremony of the festival will include laser, cars and planes shows as well as concerts.
Many government and civil societies are participating in the festival such as Defense, Interior and Health Ministries, National Guards, Kuwait Fire Service Directorate, Kuwait Red Crescent Society, Public Authority for Special Needs Affairs and Dasman Diabetes Institute, to name a few.
In addition, at least 14 foreign and embassies will be part of the carnival: Indonesia, Jordan, UAE, Morocco, Tunisia, Iraq, Yemen, Palestine, Sudan, Iran, Russia, India, Egypt and South Africa
The annual Hala February Festival is usually held from January 8 until February 8. It plays a strong role in stimulating the country's economy and tourism.
