The distribution of humanitarian aid in Palestinian Yarmuk refugee camp south of Damascus resumed on Monday after halting for several weeks due exchange of accusations between armed groups and the Syrian regime.
"The distribution of food baskets to the Palestinian people in Yarmuk refugee camp was resumed today," Director of the Political bureau in the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO), Anwar Abdulhadi said in a statement quoted by Syrian news agency (SANA).
Abdulhadi said that despite attempts by some militants inside the camp to prevent people from reaching the designated area to receive food parcels, the PLO in cooperation with the Syrian government continued to serve the Palestinian people and deliver food and medicine to them.
Abdulhadi added that they are also determined to implement the agreement in neutralizing the Yarmuk camp from weapon and armed men, and the return of more than a million Palestinians and Syrian to their homes inside the camp and end their suffering.
On a different front, SANA agency said that the assassination of Judge Mowafaq Nafakh in the suburb of Idlep took place after an armed assault.
Meanwhile, mortar rounds resulted in material damage to nearby houses and vehicles in Damascus surrounding towns, but no injuries were reported.
