Jordan National Red Crescent Society on Thursday honored Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer and the society's Honorary Treasurer, Saad Al-Nahed, granting them the "gold medal," in appreciation for their leading role in the humanitarian realm.
Dr. Al-Sayer told KUNA his honoring reflected the Jordanian association appreciation for the Kuwaiti counterpart, indicating at Kuwait's abundant aid for Syrian refugees since flare-up of the Syrian crisis. He recalled in this respect works and efforts of the late chief, Barjas Humoud Al-Barjas, who had left no stone unturned to secure the relief supplies to the Syrians in need.
He praised cooperation between the two societies, noting such coordination proved effective in facilitating delivery of the humanitarian supplies to the refugees in an orderly manner.
Meanwhile, Dr. Mohammad Al-Hadeed, the KRCS Board Chairman, expressed satisfaction at the Jordanian overture, noting -- with respect of external appreciation for Kuwait's philanthropic works -- the UN designation of Kuwait as a "Humanitarian Center," and naming His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as "Humanitarian Leader."
