Kuwaiti Ambassador to Sudan Talal Mansour Al-Hajri, in collaboration with Kuwait's Society of the Revival of Islamic Heritage (SRIH) and Sudan's Jamaat Ansar al-Sunnah al-Muhammadiyya, participated here on Saturday in handing out regular payments to Sudanese orphans.
In a statement to KUNA, Ambassador Al-Hajri said this move embodies the values of Islam aiming at spreading love among Muslims and reflecting the solid relations between Kuwait and Sudan to achieve interest of the two peoples.
He thanked Kuwaiti people for supporting orphans and needy people across the globe, voicing his gratitude to SRIH for sponsoring orphans.
For his part, Acting Chairman of Jamaat Ansar al-Sunnah Nassar Al-Abd Al-Jaleel said that the regular payment is part of financial aid distributed to about 1,000 orphans in Sudan.
The total regular payments for more than 6,000 orphans are estimated at about USD 145 million and handed out every three months, he added.
