Kuwait is set to host on Friday the 60th meeting of the Committee of Governors of Monetary Agencies and Central Banks in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states.
The 30th meeting of the board of directors of Gulf Monetary Council will also be held here on Saturday, the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) said in a press release here on Thursday.
CBK Governor Mohammad Al-Hashel will head the 60th meeting of the Committee of Governors of Monetary Agencies and Central Banks in the GCC and will also participate in the 30th meeting of the board of directors of Gulf Monetary Council, according to the release.
During their meeting here, the GCC central bank governors will discuss a set of significant issues and subjects bearing on ongoing efforts to promote and prop up Gulf cooperation and coordination, together with methods to hedge Gulf bank and financial sectors against the fallout of regional and international challenges, it said.
More concerted efforts to upgrade the level of coordination among the GCC member states in monetary and financial fields will also figure out on the agenda of the 60th meeting, the CBK added in its release.
The 30th meeting of the board of directors of Gulf Monetary Council will focus on necessary steps for completing institutional and regulatory procedures for the monetary council, it indicated.
