Luxor Governor Tarek Saadeddin has inaugurated the Agro-Indusrty Day for Food Security organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Luxor.
The event comes within the framework of the UNIDO efforts to enhance the levels of the comprehensive and sustainable industrial development in Egypt.
Director of UNIDO Office in Cairo Giovanna Ceglie delivered a speech at the beginning of the event followed by Japanese Ambassador in Cairo Takehiro Kagawa, Swiss Ambassador in Cairo Markus Leitner and Egypt's Adviser to Industry and Trade Minister Samir Al-Jamal.
The event reviewed the activities and projects implemented by UNIDO, Japanese and Swiss embassies in Cairo in the fields of Agro-Indusrty and food industries as well as developing the agricultural value chains to achieve local food security and comprehensive industrial development in a way that helps improve the standard of living and income levels for small farmers and provide sustainable employment opportunities for young people.
