Manpower Minister Mohamed Saafan has issued urgent directives to the labor representative office of the Egyptian Embassy in Doha to reach out to members of the Egyptian community and workers to benefit from a three-month grace period, set by the Qatari Interior Ministry.
The ministry had determined this period for those who are violating the residency law. The measure is meant to help violators legalize their conditions in Qatar.
Saafan received a report Tuesday from Yasser Said, the ministry's labor counselor, about the Qatari ministry's intention to end procedures for travelers starting from September 1 until December 1, 2016.
