Minister of Oil and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs Ali Al-Omair hailed as "democratic" the atmosphere which prevailed the grilling lodged by MP Abdullah Al-Turaiji against Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce and Industry Abdulmohsen Al-Madaj.
Speaking to reporters following the parliamentary session, the minister said the MP expounded on the aspects of his interpellation in an elegant manner and in line with constitutional and legal contexts.
He also commended the minister for replying to the MP's queries in full transparency, hoping that many remarks voiced during the session would be addressed in the near future.
On oil prices, the oil minister believed that world oil prices would stand at specific levels and then rebound soon, citing relevant reports by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and financial institutions.
But, he said, such levels depend on how long oil-producing companies will carry on selling oil at lower prices at production costs.
Al-Omair spoke highly of a recent OPEC decision to keep the current output ceiling of 30 million barrels per day unchanged.
