Minister of Works, Municipalities & Urban Planning received at his office Chairman of Muharraq Municipal Council Mohammed Abdulla Al Sinan (representative to the 2nd Constituency), and discussed infrastructure needs at the second Constituency.
Minister Khalaf commended the collaboration and coordination between the Ministry and Municipal Councils; reiterating the importance of keeping the councils informed about all service and infrastructure projects, in line with the national priorities.
The meeting highlighted the main infrastructure projects in Muharraq’s second Constituency, including the roads revamp in Block 203, which the contractor commenced yesterday following the award of the project at a cost of BD368,672.
The Minister stated that Block 203 roads revamp is part of the Ministry’s 2015 program to revamp old and deteriorate roads.
The project comprises of constructing a single 0.65km long road, re-constructing roads in the block using concrete brick at a length of 2.1km, implementing storm water drainage network, implementing ground channels for present and future use, protecting existing services, lighting and signage.
