The Panamanian ships were on the top of the list of vessels transiting the Suez Canal in 2014.
Some 2,550 Panamanian ships passed through the international waterway in 2014 against 2,638 the year before, according to official Canal Authority statistics.
Liberian ships came next with 2,486 ships transiting the canal in 2014 against 2,601 in 2013.
