Prime Minister Sherif Ismail presided Monday over the ministerial economic committee with the ministers of planning, supply, finance, irrigation, tourism, local development, international cooperation, agriculture, petroleum, trade and industry, and the governor of Matrouh attending.
During the meeting, the prime minister ordered preparing a comprehensive plan on the development of Egypt’s northwestern coast to be developed in order to render the area a permanent domestic and foreign tourism attraction all the year.
It was agreed that the Egyptian Tourist Authority, in cooperation with Matrouh Governorate, would prepare the comprehensive plan, to be offered for investors for implementation.
Cabinet spokesman Hossam Qaweesh said the ministers also agreed on implementing a number of tourism and housing projects in Matrouh as part of development projects in the the northwestern governorate where more job opportunities would be created.
