The member of the country's economic committee and a well-known economic expert Dr. Babiker Mohamed Tom has described the Sudanese-Kuwaiti relations as eternal and historical, pointing out that Kuwait has several projects in Sudan and extended finance to the Eastern Sudan Rehabilitation Fund.
Dr. Tom said that the Kuwaiti Economic Development Fund has witnessed great successes in the field of Arab investment, revealing that Kuwait is the one of the most important countries that diversify its investment resources in the world and Sudan should benefit from them in agricultural, industrial and other investments.
He pointed to the Kuwaiti investments in Sudan including the Kuwaiti Building in Khartoum, establishment of the Blue Nile City, the Kuwait Poultry Company and the Kenana Sugar Project, referring to the Kuwait's contributions through the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development, pointing out that the President of the Republic's visit to Kuwait is the beginning of new investment flows. He explained that the Kuwaiti investments in the country are estimated at $ 5 billion.
Regarding the President's visit to Bahrain after Kuwait, Dr. Tom said that Bahrain is one of the largest financial centers in the Middle East, and it employs Sudanese competent experts, pointing out that Bahrain always welcomes Sudanese labor.
He pointed out that Bahrain has financial research centers in the field of stocks and stock exchanges that Sudan should take advantage of them as they are based on the standards of the Islamic capital markets and banking, stressing the need to benefit from Bahrain in investment in the agricultural field.
