Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) on Wednesday held talks with a delegation from Cameroon, currently in Doha on a visit organized by the African American Chamber of Commerce, to cement partnerships between Qatari businessmen and their Cameroonian counterparts in the areas of agro-industry, real estate, wood, furniture and public investment.
QCCI Vice-Chairman Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Towar Al Kuwari said the African continent is one of the most promising investment destinations targeted by investors from all over the world, adding that the Cameroonian delegation presented a number of projects and investment opportunities to Qatari investors, notably in the fields of food security and minerals.
During their visit to Doha, the Cameroonian delegation held talks with several major institutions operating in Qatar with a view to promote investment in Cameroon, Al Kuwari added, saying that QCCI supports this effort and will eagerly mull the offered opportunities.
He pointed out that Qatari investments are everywhere, noting that Africa is full of investment opportunities that Qatari investors are keen on.
For his part, Raoul Keddy, president of the African American Chamber of Commerce in Cameroon, said his visit along with his accompanying delegation has achieved success on all fronts.
The Cameroonian government and private sector believe that time is suitable for a rapprochement between the two countries to seek opportunities for sharing experience between them, Keddy said, adding that a Qatari delegation will visit Cameroon in May to examine investment opportunities there.
Meanwhile, Al Kuwari met Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Bangladeshi minister of labor, employment, expatriates' welfare and overseas employment, and his accompanying delegation in the presence of Bangladesh Ambassador to Qatar Syed Masud Mahmud Khandakar.
The meeting discussed bilateral cooperation between the two sides and ways to strengthen them, especially in the field of employment.
