HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al-Thani met here today with Sri Lankan Minister of Highways and Investment Promotion Kabir Hashim and his accompanying delegation.
They reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries in economic, trade and investment fields and ways to support and strengthen them, in addition to aspects of cooperation between the two countries.
The State of Qatar and the Republic of Sri Lanka had signed a number of trade and economic agreements such as the convention on economic, trade and technical cooperation signed in 2012 in Colombo, in addition to the convention on the protection and promotion of mutual investment, signed in Doha in 2012. Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a memorandum of understanding with Sri Lankan Chamber of Construction Industry.
The volume of trade between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Sri Lanka reached QR417.4 million in 2014.
