Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works, Chairman of the Higher Committee for UAE Civil Seaports and Airports Security has underscored the importance of maritime transport sector in the growth of national economy and its geographical location.He pointed out that maritime transport and ports sectors complement each other, directly support the safety and security of the state and strengthen the national economy, which plays a leading role internationally through trade exchange and movement of passengers in a safe environment.He said this while reviewing the preliminary results of the field survey of maritime ports and harbors of the State, which was carried out by the team of security operations affiliated to the Higher Committee for UAE Civil Seaports and Airports Security. The survey program aims to update the marine data system for all commercial and fishing ports, harbors and creeks to reach the proper and systematic planning to develop the legislative and legal environment in the marine sector of the state.Sheikh Hamdan commended the team of security operations and skilled national cadre applying scientific theories and methodologies in a professional way that reflects the training methodology adopted by the Commission in the training of skilled national manpower. On his part, Sultan bin Yaqoob Al Za'abi, Executive Director of UAE Civil Seaports and Airports Security thanked Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak for his support and persistent follow up of the permanent functions and duties carried out by the Committee.
