President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi
Cairo - MENA

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has ordered the government not to raise electricity prices for low income brackets, saying the state has to take its responsibilities towards them.

Any increases to electricity rates should be for high consumption houses, he said.

Sisi thanked the Minister of Electricity for the efforts he exerted to meet the high demand via renovation of power networks and construction of new power generation stations.

The government has signed agreements to produce about 60 percent of total power generation output within two years.
