President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has ordered launch of an international marketing campaign for the new Suez Canal project.
During a meeting on Wednesday with Head of the Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamish, the president underscored the importance of developing a marketing plan for the mega project, Spokesman for the president, Alaa Yousef said.
The meeting took up the progress made at the project so far.
"We are ahead of schedule," Mamish told the president.
As well as building a second channel, Egypt plans to create a major logistics and shipping corridor alongside the canal banks.
