The Minister of Mining, Dr. Abdul-Bagi Al-Jailani, has announced establishment of the first regional geological office

The Sudanese Ministry of Minerals is seeking to bring in Egyptian investments to the country.

Sudan welcomes public and private investments from Egypt, said Mohamed Abdel Baqi, the director general of the geological studies authorities in a meeting with Egyptian businessmen Monday.

He said his country is interested in joint or individual investments that will optimize economic gains from the mineral sector in Sudan.

Atef Rashad, an Egyptian businessman, said his economic group is interested in investing in the mineral sector in Sudan.
