The Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour Hanim Burhan has affirmed concern of the ministry with the Arab and international labour standards, referring to Sudan's ratification to the half of the Arab labour agreements and compliance of the national legislations to them to preserve the worker rights.
This came when addressed Wednesday Country Training Course on (the Training of the Cadres concerned with Arab Labour Standards), organized by the Department of Social Protection of the Arab Labour Organization in collaboration with the Arab Center for Social Insurance at the Grand Holiday Villa Hotel.
Hanim emphasized its ministry's continued support for these activities which ensure workers' rights and regulate the relationship between workers and the employers in accordance with the standards issued by the organization.
For his part, the Director of Social Protection Department at the Organization of Arab Labour Hamdi Ahmed said that Sudan is known for its responsiveness with the organization in various activities, pointing out that the activity of the Arab standard is linked to the collective endorsement of all the Arab states obligates commitment with the unified labour law as it is the most important means for supporting the joint action and creating attractive environment for investment and consolidation of social dialogue.
He explained that the law requires existence of mechanisms for of follow-up and realization of social justice and equality as well as development of labour legislations, stressing cooperation of the organization with organizations and associations to achieve this legislations in Sudan.
Dr. Khalid Yassin, the Director of the Arab Centre for Social Insurance, asserted continuous concern and cooperation of the centre for the capacity building to reach a comprehensive phase of social security and preservation of workers' rights, enumerating the labour standards and agreements ratified by Sudan, pointing to the importance getting acquainted with the legislations in order to be ratified.
