The Suez Canal revenues dropped in September this year by 7.9% to record $469.7 million, compared to $510 million in August, the Cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) said.
The number of ships that transited the Suez Canal in September decreased by 7.5%, reaching 1,458 ships against 1,577 in August, the center's report on economic and social indices said on Thursday.
Shipments carried by vessels crossing the international waterway were down by 5.9% in the same month, recording 83.8 million tons, versus 89.1 million tons in the preceding month, according to the report.
