The Tunisian Finance Ministry is considering raising the budget of the defense and interior ministries by 306 million dinars to reach 4.7 billion dinars.
The extra allocation was included in the finance bill to be submitted to parliament in the coming period.
It aims to raise the army and police capabilities in fighting terrorism and increase the number of security and border units.
Tunisian Prime Minister Habib Essid had vowed to increase the budget of the two ministries in the aftermath of the March terror attack against the Bardo National Museum in Tunis, which left 21 tourists and a police officer killed.
