Tunis - QNA

A session of talks was held here today between Tunisian Foreign Minister Rafik Abdul Salam and HE Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah. HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs said the talks discussed developing a mechanism to follow up and implement projects that have been agreed upon between the two countries, under the direction of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. He added that these projects include many areas such as energy, mining, infrastructure, tourism and real estate sector as well as food industry, pointing out that there is a great program for bilateral cooperation that needs continuous follow up to speed up the implementation. Tunisian Foreign Minister said that Tunisia and Qatar relations have developed and advanced much in all areas and at all levels to reach advanced stages due to the existence of a common political will of the leaderships of both countries. The talk, he said, is no longer about the agreements, but about the implementation of projects agreed upon in various fields, such as housing and tourism (e.g. Tozeur desert resort in the south of Tunisia), as well as technical cooperation in health and engineering, and bilateral partnership at African level. He reiterated that the Tunisia-Qatar relations are solid and strong to serve the interests of both countries and the interests of the Arab nation in general. Earlier, HE Dr Al Attiyah met Tunisian Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Riyad Beltayeb and discussed with him aspects of existing cooperation between Qatar and Tunisia, and ways to further enhance and develop it to serve the common interest of both countries.
