UK Royal Navy vessel "HMS Bangor", a Sandown-class minehunter, had visited Egypt's Alexandria Port, the UK embassy in Cairo said.
The visit on July 2-4 is the first to be made by a Royal Navy vessel to the port in five years, an embassy statement said.
During the visit, HMS Bangor's commanding officer Lieutenant Commander Michael Quinn laid a wreath on the Alexandria Naval Unknown Soldier Memorial.
Quinn had invited Egyptian naval commander Mohamed Ahmed on the vessel for Ramadan breakfast.
The UK commander expounded on the vessel's SeaFox mine disposal system, it added.
