The works of the economic and social conference of the youth started Monday in Algiers in the presence of Minister of Youth Abdelkader Khomri and other members of the government as well as representatives of youth associations.
The meeting will be, according to its organizers, a space for reflection on the challenges faced by young people, particularly unemployment.
During two days, experts, sociologists, representatives of civil society as well as economic operators will focus on the mechanisms made available by the State to the youths and companies for the socio-economic integration of youth.
Several workshops, notably on the integration and training of youth as well as the job market will be organized on this occasion by the participants for the assessment of the efforts and the elaboration of a national strategic action plan that involves all the sectors concerned by supporting young people.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Khomri underlined that “the approach linking youth to development is the result of our experiences, our political options, economic choices and development model.”
