The Albanian government will repay the country's business sector a total of 400 million dollars in arrears in 2014, as part of efforts to promote economic performances across the country, the Albanian Telegraphic Agency reported Tuesday.
According to official data, the business sector has already received 300 million dollars of arrears from the government this year and will get another 100 million by the end of December.
The paying of arrears accumulated by the previous right-wing government, which total 726 million dollars, is one of the strongest political commitments of the current Albanian government which took power last year. The Finance Ministry has drafted a related strategy.
It had planned to pay 350 million dollars of arrears in 2014, and has earmarked 200 million dollars for the purpose in the 2015 budget. It plans to pay the same amount in 2016.
